Experience the art of visible mending with Beth Bridgeman, a full-time maker and weaver from Yellow Springs, Ohio. What if worn fabric, damage, rips and tears were an opportunity rather than a problem? Mending is a skill that teaches not only a form of fiber art but contradicts the culture of use-and-waste. Learn about sashiko and boro stitching, the creation of playful embroidery figures to cover worn areas and how to make creative patches. Bring your clothing in need of repair, or simply try out the skill on provided scrap fabric. All materials will be provided.
FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS: If you are a Centerville/Washington Township resident, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. The system WILL NOT recognize you as a resident if you enter Centerville or Washington Township as your city.

Participants may bring their own clothing in need of repair to this program. Otherwise, participants will test the skills out on provided scrap fabric.
Program cancellations made seven days prior to the start date will receive a full refund in the form of household credit or refund to the original payment method. Those cancellations made less than seven days prior to the program date will be offered a 50% refund in the form of a household credit. Cancellations made during or after the program are not eligible for a refund. Exceptions to this policy can be made at the discretion of the Program Manager.
