Speaker Bios
Kari Carter, President of Dayton Area Wild Ones, has been a nature lover and native plant enthusiast since childhood, when her family took many camping trips in Michigan's upper peninsula and other parts of the country. She studied biology and English in college and has worked as a seasonal naturalist, science writer and editor, homeschool teacher, and college instructor. For over 20 years, she has nurtured many native plants and removed countless harmful invasive species on her Washington Township property. She is currently trying to overcome a mild addiction to purchasing native plants but is always happy to share seeds from her gardens.
If you realize you are unable to attend ahead of time, please contact the Park District. Having accurate registration allows us to properly utilize our staff and volunteers as well as offer spots to those on the waiting list.
