November 24 – December 8: Pick up plywood owl
December 12 – 29: Turn in painted owl (office is not open December 24 & 25)
January 8 – February 19: Scavenger Hunt!
February 26: Winners announced!

Owls will be featured in the parks for one week during the scavenger hunt, then they will be returned to their original families.

Contest Rules:

Owls can be painted any color you wish. You provide the paint. The base coat will be white by default.

You cannot add things to your cutout. Only paint. This assists with the transport of the cutout. No glitter, please. Items turned in that break these rules may still be featured, but will be ineligible for a prize.

Owls need to be accompanied an entry sheet. Please give it a name and tell us about their favorite roosting spot.

Holes will be drilled into your entry for installation. If holes are pre-drilled, please do not cover it up.

Please label the owls with your entry number on the back. Your number will be provided after registration is complete.

If you paint on both sides, please indicate which side is to be facing outward and judged. (Placing your number on the back will let us know which way is right!)

Votes will be cast by participants in the Scavenger Hunt. Only one vote per person will be counted. Those painting owls can participate in the Scavenger Hunt, but they and their household may not vote for their own design.

One plywood entry per household.

Voted winners 1st-5th place will receive a prize basket. Staff will also vote and the winner pick will also receive a prize basket. All entries that do not place will be placed in a raffle for two additional prize baskets.
