Do you have a nature enthusiast in your household who wants to learn about and play in forests, creeks and meadows? Naturalist camp combines environmental education, outdoor play, fun games, team challenges and camaraderie all in one!

We will conduct wildlife surveys, climb trees with EarthJoy, hike, go creeking, and take on silly team challenges. Each week will have a different nature theme to study. We will spend one day each week at Oak Grove Park where we will focus on archery, special activities and challenges related to our weekly theme.

FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS: If you are a Centerville/Washington Township resident, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. The system WILL NOT recognize you as a resident if you enter Centerville or Washington Township as your city.

Note:

Location: Grant Park, Kennard Nature Nook, 6588 McEwen Rd.

How do insects fit into our local ecosystems? We will study insects in the ponds, creeks, forests, and prairies of Grant Park while learning what makes them important. Silly scavenger hunts, art, games and activities will give all of us a new appreciation and moments of wonder for our six-legged friends.

Our Oak Grove Adventures will include:
Fishing, Archery and Fire Building

Close-toed shoes are required. Parents/guardians may wish to bring towels for the ride home as we are in the creeks most days.

Campers will need to bring a sack lunch. NO PEANUT or TREE NUT PRODUCTS PLEASE!

Preparing for your first week of camp:
Please review our camp discipline policy prior to your child's first week of camp: https://www.cwpd.org/programs-events/childrens-programs/summer-camp-discipline-process/

Please note additional forms are required for epi pens and medication that will be brought to camp (i.e., asthma inhalers). These additional documents require a physician's signature and are due two weeks before your child's first week of camp. Forms and release waivers can be found here: https://www.cwpd.org/forms/

Please note, all participants must be independent in the six activities of daily living: using the restroom, eating, bathing, dressing, transferring (i.e. walking) and continence. If your child requires an accommodation to participate, please call (937) 433-5155 and specify on the Medical History Form.

Regarding camper friends: Campers are divided into two groups. We do our best to put campers with their friends but that is always not possible. Groups of 6 or more could be divided to ensure everyone gets to be with at least one person they know. Camper groups often mingle throughout the day and eat lunch together.
