25WIN - Spot the Squirrels Scavenger Hunt

All ages
Thursday, January 9 – Thursday, February 13
Registration deadline: Wednesday, February 12 (Clues are emailed every Thursday. Registering late may mean you miss some of the clues)

Park District Snowman, Spot, is visiting his red squirrel friends at Grant Park. They are super excited to show him their winter cache! They collected more than food to get them through the winter! Knowing how much Spot loves CWPD, they each collected some items that reminded them of a park experience or activity they enjoyed. What do you think the squirrels collected?

Each week, participants will receive a clue to go out in your parks to search for the squirrels. Squirrels will only be hiding at each park for one week! Mark their numbers and where you found them on the recording sheet. Turn in your sheets for a prize. Don't forget to vote for your favorite!

FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS: If you are a Centerville/Washington Township resident, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. The system WILL NOT recognize you as a resident if you enter Centerville or Washington Township as your city.

Note:

Clues will be emailed out every Thursday starting January 9th at 1:00 p.m. The clues may be a little difficult – you may want to check the Find a Park page on our website for some help!

Clue for Week 1: Will be posted here for registrations after the email each week, once the program officially begins.

Squirrels are moved and installed on Thursday morning each week. You have until Wednesday evening to find the squirrels that were placed in the park the previous Thursday.

Register each member of your family so we know how many prizes to issue. Family members can share an answer sheet, but they must all be listed. First name is fine. Each person can also vote for their favorite squirrel.

If you register after the start date and miss some parks, no problem. This is a fun challenge for all, no matter the start date! We will email you a picture of all the entries at the end so you can select your favorite!

Multiple squirrels will be placed at a single park, so you may have some searching to do! Paths will vary in length and difficulty. Each squirrel will have a number to write on your recording sheet to show that you did indeed spot them.

At the end of the 6 weeks, we will email you photos of all of the squirrel so you can choose your favorite number before turning in your sheet. Each participant may vote for their favorite once. Households that painted a squirrel will not be allowed to vote for theirs.

Recording sheets/votes are due by 11:59 p.m. Monday, February 24. Please submit to klucas@cwpd.org. Prize pickup details for those that turn in a sheet will be emailed on February 26. You can still vote for a yeti and get a prize with an incomplete hunt!

Good Luck!!
