November 28 – December 9: Pick-up plywood squirrel
December 13 – 27: Turn in painted squirrel
January 9 – February 20: Scavenger Hunt
February 27: Winners announced

Squirrels will be featured in the parks for one week during the scavenger hunt, then they will be returned to their original families.

Contest Rules:

Squirrels can be painted any color you wish. You provide the paint. The base coat will be white by default.

You cannot add things to your cutout. Only paint. This assists with the transport of the cutout. No glitter, please.

Squirrels need to be accompanied an entry sheet. Please give it a name and tell us what your squirrel placed in its cache to remind it of their favorite activity or experience in the parks.

The holes pre-drilled in the squirrel should not be covered up. That is how we will secure them in the parks.

Please label the Squirrel with your entry number on the back. Your number will be provided after registration is complete.

If you paint on both sides, please indicate which side is to be facing outward and judged. (Placing your number on the back will let us know which way is right!)

Votes will be cast by participants in the Scavenger Hunt. Only one vote per person will be counted. Those painting squirrels can participate in the Scavenger Hunt, but they and their household may not vote for their own design.

One plywood entry per household.

Winners 1st-5th place will receive a ribbon and prize. Staff pick will also receive a ribbon and prize.
