Spot the Snowman is babysitting his friend the yeti's kids. He has started a big round of hide and seek! The thing is, these yetis are expert camouflage-ers! Paint your yeti to camouflage into a park scene and turn in their name and why they chose to hide at that spot! Prizes will be awarded for the most popular designs!

Yetis will be turned in and featured in our Scavenger Hunt. Winners of the painting contest will be announced on February 22.

FIRST-TIME REGISTRANTS: If you are a Centerville/Washington Township resident, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. The system WILL NOT recognize you as a resident if you enter Centerville or Washington Township as your city.

Note:

Important Dates:
December 2 – 9: Pick-up plywood yeti
December 16 – 21: Turn in painted yeti
January 6 – February 17: Scavenger Hunt
February 22: Winners announced

Yetis will be featured in the parks for one week during the scavenger hunt, then they will be returned to their original families.

Contest Rules:

Yetis can be painted any color you wish. You provide the paint. The base coat will be white by default. The Park District will be sealing them when they are returned to us.

You cannot add things to your cutout. Only paint. This assists with the transport of the cutout. No glitter, please.

Yetis need to be accompanied by short explanation of why they chose that spot to hide.

The holes pre-drilled in the snow globe should not be covered up. That is how we will secure them in the parks.

Please label the Yeti with your entry number on the back. Your number will be provided after registration is complete.

If you paint on both sides, please indicate which side is to be facing outward and judged. (Placing your number on the back will let us know which way is right!)

Votes will be cast by participants in the Scavenger Hunt. Only one vote per person will be counted. Those painting snow globes can participate in the Scavenger Hunt, but they and their household may not vote for their own design.

One entry per household.

The top three winners from the votes will receive a medal and a prize.
The Staff Pick winner will also receive a medal and prize.
